French Film Festival: Les Choristes

It’s ooo la la time again as the 5th Annual French Film Festival takes over Fullerton College offering a stellar lineup of le chic, including 1992’s epic drama Indochine, which won Best Foreign Language Film at the Oscars and garnered Catherine Deneuve her only Best Actress nomination to date; the thriller Merci pour le Chocolat starring Isabelle Huppert; and 2011’s The Intouchables, which became the second-highest grossing domestic film in France’s history. This Friday, join your fellow frog-lovers at a screening of Les Choristes (The Chorus), a 2004 drama that is often thought of as the French Mr. Holland’s Opus or Dead Poets Society, and concerns a successful orchestra conductor who recalls his troubled youth and how one amazing teacher inspired and transformed him into the man he is today. Le sniff.
