There's a silly stereotype that most South County women are uber-groomed and have disposable income, as well as ridiculously pamper their equally groomed pint-size purse-dogs—and, well, in this case, some of that might be true. The Ritz-Carlton is throwing a monthly cocktail party called Yappy Hour for privileged pooches and their undoubtedly beautiful owners. At Yappy Hour, dogs are treated to handmade biscuits and a selection of flavored waters (options include bacon-, cheese- and chicken-flavored), plus an unimaginable amount of baby-talk praises and smooches. And because the event starts promptly at 5 p.m., their humans are invited to imbibe on a selection of wine and other booze. But it's not all sappy OC caricatures: proceeds benefit the Wounded Veterans Initiative of Canine Companions for Independence.
