Lady comic book superheroes, anti-heroes and villains have been around since 1940, beginning with Fantomah, an ancient, ageless, beautiful blonde Egyptian who transformed into an eight-foot-tall, blue Skeletor-type (still with the blonde hair) to fight evildoers. Debuting one year after the first Superman comic, Fantomah opened the flood gates for the likes of Black Widow, Red Tornado, Lady Luck, and the Black Cat – with Batwoman, Supergirl and the queen of them all, Wonder Woman close on their stiletto heels. Since then, the DC and Marvel Universes have been awash in scantily-clad sexpots trying to save you or kill you – with either objective considered super hot. Now’s your chance to see some of those hardcore heroines (as portrayed by more than a dozen burlesque performers like Dolly Danger, Scarlett Deville, and Martini Bombshell) strut and sass their way through the legendary streets of Gotham – but beware: they’ll beckon you into the darkness and seduce you with a smile, and you may not make it out alive. What a way to go.
