Break out the vuvuzelas! What'd you miss this weekend? We were in Long Beach's 2nd St. visiting all the World Cup viewing parties, checking out the gals of the Dirty Little Secrets Burlesque (straight outta Huntington Beach!), dropping in on the PETA protest of the Ringling Bros. circus and finally, the return of Lilith Fair at the Irvine Verizon Wireless Amphitheater.
Photographer Keith May wandered 2nd St. in Long Beach on Sunday morning,
seeking World Cup fans and viewing parties–he found them filling up
Aroma Di Roma and overflowing onto the sidewalk, Riley's and Legends.
(P.S. Long live Paul the Octopus!) BZZZZZZ! See the photos here.
The Huntington Beach-based Dirty Little Secrets Burlesque performed two sets on Saturday night at the Pike in Long Beach. For more info, visit myspace.com/HiddenTalentsBurlesque. See the entire slideshow here.
Another year, another Ringling Bros. stop in Anaheim, another PETA
protest. Today's protest took place at the southeast corner of S. Lemon
St. and W. Center St. Promenade in Anaheim on July 9, 2010. For more
info, and to see Ringling Bros.' response, please see Matt Coker's post, “Another Nekkid PETA Lady Precedes the
Ringling Bros. Circus Arrival in Anaheim.” And check out the rest of the photos here.
Lilith Fair happened at the Verizon Wireless Amphitheater in Irvine on Saturday. The line-up included Sarah McLachlan, Emmylou Harris, Brandi Carlile, Miranda Lambert, the Weepies and more. See all the photos here.
