Coachella is two days away, so it's time for those attending to devise a plan to catch as many bands as they can during a three-day period. When it comes to festivals, it's all about timing–you'll either want to see a band you love, or take a risk and check out a new band you've never heard of. Animal Collective
This psych noise-pop band from New York provides not only layers of reverb for your enjoyment, but also some very trip-worthy visuals on stage that will make you question whether you are really under the influence or not.
Duck Sauce
The collaboration of two well known DJ's, Armand Van Helden and A-Trak, creates retro disco electronica songs influenced by New York grit.
Gypsy & The Cat
Another danceable band to add to the list, Australians Xavier Bacash and Lionel Towers mix the old with the new. Gypsy & The Cat's influences for their electro-pop sound ranges from Jeff Buckley to Daft Punk.
Freelance Whales
This lovely five-piece band uses every instrument known to man–from banjos to xylophones to glockenspiels–to create their sugary-sweet pop tunes. Their songs have already been featured on TV shows Skins and One Tree Hill.
Black Joe Lewis & the Honeybears
Perhaps one of the bands whose sound will stand out from the rest this year, Black Joe Lewis & the Honeybears' music is filled with blasting horns and deep bass riffs that are reminiscent of the Motown era.
