The third-annual LA Weekly Gold Standard food-and-wine event happens on March 6 at the Petersen Automotive Museum in Los Angeles. Curated by Jonathan Gold, the restaurant list includes a who's-who of Mr. Gold's favorite hole-in-the-wall specialty restaurants, as well as a few high-end temples of gastronomy to keep you on your toes. The inclusion of high-end and lo-fi sums up the wide-ranging palate of
the Pulitzer Award-winning food writer and represents the broad
spectrum of deliciousness in our neighboring County of Angels.
cast of 40 restaurants is expected. Among the confirmed attendees are A Frame, Bistro LQ, Chichen Itza, Earlez Grille, Jitlada, La
Casita Mexicana, the Manila Machine, Mayura Amrit, Meals By Genet, Mozza,
Park's BBQ, Slaw Dogs, Street, the Gorbals, Mo-Chica and Upstairs 2.
Presented by our sister paper and the Wine House, the event will
also feature 30 wineries, Bulleit Bourbon and Opulent Vodka to
get your pair for your tasting enjoyment.
LA Weekly's Gold Standard is open to ticket holders on March 6 from 1 to 5 p.m. No tickets will be sold at the door. General admission tickets are $60. A limited number of $80 VIP tickets are available and include early entry at noon, as well as a gift bag with swag from the sponsors. A portion of ticket proceeds benefits Heal the Bay.
