It's time to break out the golden popcorn as the 2014 MTV Movie Awards are here! This Sunday's live broadcast, hosted by Conan O'Brien, looks to continue the show's 22-year-long tradition of being cinema's least predictable night. With the first show, where Terminator 2: Judgment Day swept the categories, setting the standard in 1992, the fan-voted awards have allowed for a strong barometer of where the public taste falls. The show's also been home to career-making breakthrough performances from the likes of The White Stripes in 2002 and Kid Rock in 1999.
This year's show, broadcasting from Los Angeles' Nokia Theater, is headlined by a collaborative performance between Eminem and Rihanna, as well as Ellie Goulding, Zedd and 21 pilots. Along with being the only award show to boast awards in such categories as “Best Scared-As-Shit Performance” and “#WTF Moment,” there are five nominees in the Best Musical Moment category that we're more than happy to list for your consideration here.

This is the End – “Backstreet's Back”
As funny and polarizing as This is the End was, it at least went out on a crowd-pleasing note. In hopefully a glimpse of what eternal happiness might truly be like, Backstreet Boys perform “Everybody (Backstreet's Back)” live from Heaven!
American Hustle – “Live and Let Die”
One of the most powerful moments of American Hustle was Jennifer Lawrence mouthing and dancing along with Paul McCartney's “Live and Let Die.” Gripping and visceral, it's our favorite use of “Live and Let Die” since MC/Producer El-P used it to remix Justin Bieber's “Baby.”
The Wolf of Wall Street – “Pretty Thing”
Whether he's dying on a boat or pestering the Seavers, there's pretty much nothing Leonard DiCaprio can't do. One of our generation's finest actors, when Scorsese was all like “Hey, for this Wolf of Wall Street scene, go pop-and-lock to Bo Diddley,” Leo was probably all like “Sure thang, boss” and the rest was cinema history.

Identity Thief – “Barracuda”
A scene involving singing along to a radio in a comedy? That's unprecedented! Well, not really, but in all seriousness, in the last year we've had two great ones that are absolutely worthy of the Popcorn nod. Here, Identity Thief's Melissa McCarthy shows how deep and diverse her talents go by hitting the mark on a multitude of songs in a hilarious car sing-along.
We're the Millers – “Waterfalls”
We at the Weekly were pleasantly surprised with exactly how much we loved We're the Millers. Thus, we were pretty elated to see one of our favorite scenes in the picture get nominated for Best Musical Moment. Even if you haven't seen the film, the scene speaks (and sings) (and raps) for itself.
