The last time the Used were in Orange County, they were playing a “secret show” at Chain Reaction to celebrate the release of their fourth studio album, Artwork, this past August. This time, they’ll be playing to a considerably larger crowd for two nights at the House of Blues, and OC’s Atreyu will be riding shotgun on both gigs. Though Artwork hasn’t reached the heights of their mid-2000s “The Taste of Ink”-peak, it debuted at No. 10 on Billboard and produced a lead single, “Blood on My Hands,” with a typically weird video. And if the Chain Reaction show is any indication, Bert McCracken and company still have plenty of screechy, young, female fans—the ultimate currency for a pop-punk band.
