The Strokes to Release Fourth Album in March

It has been 10 years since the Strokes released their classic debut album, Is This It. The group is now almost done with their fourth full-length, tentatively titled Angles and scheduled for release on March 22. The advance word is that it's their best since the debut–and most similar, though the band's increasing tendency toward musical complexity will continue.

The Strokes' recording process has also changed significantly. Their previous albums saw singer Julian Casablanbcas pen almost all of the lyrics, with the rest of the band laying down the appropriate tracks. Each of the five members contributed at least one song to the album, and the more democratic style fits a band approaching musical middle age. As bratty as they may have been in the “NYC Cops” era, the Strokes are well on their way to being elder statesmen in the rock world. The band will also be rocking Coachella in April, so make sure to acknowledge and celebrate their talent, both in music and in survival.
