The Misfits founder/lead singer Glenn Danzig left the band 27 years ago, longtime guitarist Doyle Wolfgang von Frankenstein (not his real name, sadly) departed nine years ago, and the band haven’t released a studio album since 2003. Despite all that, the “Misfits” still tour, with the 2010 incarnation including bassist and sole original member Jerry Only taking lead vocals. They still play the old hits—“Teenagers From Mars,” “Die, Die My Darling”—and sometimes a couple of Black Flag tunes, as current guitarist Dez Cadena and drummer Robo were both in that band. And they still move a lot of merch, though who knows whether the kids picking up their skull-laden T-shirts at Hot Topic know what they’re actually from or are just buying them because they look cool.
