The Lucky Lonely

The Lucky Lonely seem as adept at crafting delicately layered, catchy songs as they are playing the music-industry game. The indie-pop-folk spirit is still there, perfectly polished and arranged just-so, but what makes this band a “one to watch” is their strategic evolution. As the group's bio states, founding members Michael Bedard and David Bennett “have an exact vision of what they want to achieve and are having fun cracking the code of success.” So it was a smart move that, after Bennett toured with Pharcyde and worked with Jordin Sparks, and Bedard did a stint on MTV's Starmaker, they tapped into that mainstream hip-hop/pop goldmine for the next addition to their band. Enter Jinjoo Lee, a pretty Korean guitarist who has worked with Cee Lo, Jojo, and Keyshia Cole. Next up was new member Bob Matthews, a bass player and former musical director for Kate Voegele. An all-star team in the making? We'll have to wait and see.
