The Foreigner

Mayhem is on the menu at a Georgia fishing lodge when British demolitions expert Froggy LeSeuer unwittingly gets his pal Charlie mixed up with a sinister minister and his redneck flunkie who have evil plans far worse, apparently, than impregnating the minister’s fiancée—although that happens. By the minister. We think. Shyboy Charlie pretends he doesn’t speekazeeEnglish, you see, so all the dirty laundry is thusly aired in his presence while Froggy is indisposed, which means everyone’s in store for a heap load of super expressive facial gestures as Charlie processes the scandalous going’s-on in this Gigi Fusco Meese-directed production of playwright Larry Shue’s The Foreigner. Catch the comic confusion this week at the Long Beach Playhouse.

Fridays-Sundays. Starts: Sept. 28. Continues through Oct. 26, 2013
