Suicidal Tendencies
The Observatory
With the release of their latest album 13, Suicidal Tendencies are more than a nostalgia act. Though the group could have rested on their laurels in 1983 after the release of their self-titled debut–a bona fide punk/hardcore classic–or any of their eight other full-length albums, two EPs and numerous compilation tracks, vocalist Mike Muir chooses to write new music to stay relevant. They charge into the Observatory tonight with support from Terror, Trash Talk, Sprung Monkey N The Inspector Cluzo. (Ryan Ritchie)

102.7 KIIS FM Live Grand Opening
Yost Theater
With the lack of decent dance clubs in OC, we're pleased to see Yost Theater take those reigns and steer the scene. This week, the EDM venue presents the inaugural 102.7 KIIS FM Live, broadcasting in real time tonight and every Friday for the foreseeable future. With superstar DJ Alex Dreamz piloting the tables, it's a dance-crazy 18-year-old's trance come true–and a much closer venue than the Club KIIS bonanza in LA all those years ago. So squeeze into those bodycon dresses and get those fake eyelashes just right, this club opening is sure to piss off the neighbors in an epic way. James Invteld
Big's Grill
Not every rockabilly singer can boast that he or she has their own IMDb page, but that's exactly one of the things that makes James Intveld stand out. On top of his roots and rockabilly stylings, he's also done some acting in Hollywood; a fan favorite has to be his vocals for Johnny Depp's Cry-Baby in the '90s John Waters' comedy Cry-Baby. That film should have given you a taste of his capabilities as a singer to be a snarling wildman, as well as a tender crooner at the same time. Intveld's not in the Rockabilly Hall of Fame for nothing. See him tonight at Big's Grill in Fullerton. (Aimee Murillo)

Sell Out! Ska Night

LA promoters Through Being Cool–who've been fighting hard for the dignity of the '90s and '00s with earlier nights packed with Ozma, Imperial Teen and Braid tracks–did their all-ska all-night Skaugust show at Barcade in (of course) August, and now they're bringing that same combo of pleasures both honest and adorably guilty to Alex's Bar with their Sell Out! Ska Nite. DJs Carlos, Dye Job and Sci Fi Scorpio promise selections (including selections by the Selecter) from each wave of the ska revivals, starting with the Specials and Madness and sliding all the way up to Sublime and Save Ferris. (Hometown tip: work in some Suburban Rhythm, too.) For those of you fearing you'd never skank again, here's one last chance to pick-it-up-pick-it-up-pick-it-up. (Chris Ziegler)

If Shitting Glitter isn't the best name for a band, I don't know what is… but you definitely receive all the flippant glam rock you'd expect from this pack of party people. Mixing dancy disco along with some surf guitar, the group boast a rich energy that will surely boost you over to the dance floor. Don't question the band members' choice to wear brightly-colored wigs either, instead just embrace it and go along for the ride. Performing tonight with Peachy Keene and This Time With Feeling.
