The Eye of the LA Punk Scene Opening Reception

The photography work of Edward Colver has been collected in the book Blight at the End of the Funnel and captured on the cover of Steven Blush’s American Hardcore . His images chronicle the rise of Southern California’s punk scene over the late ‘70s and early ‘80s, and can be seen on album covers including Black Flag’s Damaged and in the liner notes of the 1984 self-titled debut by the Red Hot Chili Peppers. He’s now being celebrated in the exhibit “The Eye of the LA Punk Scene” at Hibbleton Gallery in Fullerton (a city with a rich punk history of its own), which also features some of his lesser-seen assemblage (three-dimensional works made composed of found objects) pieces.
