Tokimonsta
The Observatory
Torrance's TOKiMONSTA was part of that first unbelievable generation of Low End Theory-born beatmakers and producers, releasing a ferocious roster of records in that high-water-mark year of 2010 that earned her a place alongside breakouts like Flying Lotus' Cosmogramma and Gaslamp Killer and Gonjasufi's A Sufi And A Killer. She's further refined her sound since then, developing a fascinating aesthetic that works just as well for a pop song as it does for an infinitely detailed producer's showcase. (For examples of both in action, check her collaborations with L.A. neo-disco vocalist Gavin Turek.) Her most recent Desiderium collides kosmiche spacescapes with instantly accessible pop, making yet another release that's less an album than a self-contained little world. (Chris Ziegler)

The Adolescents
The Observatory
Noted as a “punk supergroup” The Adolescents have been a beloved presence in Orange County for the thirty-plus years of their existence, and don't seem to be showing any signs of slowing down (lucky for us). And even since original member Steve Soto hit the big 5-0, the guys are still as young and kick-ass as any adolescent in Orange County. Watch them destroy once again at the Observatory on Saturday night with support from The Weirdos, CH3, and The Stitches & The Windows. (Aimee Murillo)
Chicano Soul Legends
Honda Center
The timeless music travels from terrestrial frequencies onto the concert stage when Laboe presents the Chicano Soul Legends concert Saturday at the Theatre at Honda Center. His legion of listeners will fill arena seats for a lineup stacked with the genre's iconic acts from the early '60s to the '70s, including Malo, Tierra, Thee Midniters, the Heartbreakers and El Chicano. Molotov
The Observatory
Since 1995, Molotov has raised desmadre everywhere they go. From Buenos Aires Argentina to Moscow Russia, the quartet from Mexico City captivates the crowds with songs filled of controversy, satire and freedom of speech. Despite the fact some LGTB groups here in El Norte asked them to refrain from playing their controversial song “Puto” on their set during their last big 2013 Jagermeister USA Tour, the natives of chilangolandia have continued to delight their fans singing it louder than ever. This weekend, they prepare for another rowdy show at The Observatory in SanTana. (Josue Rivas)
Fleetwood Mac
Honda Center
Once there was a time when you were practically required by law to have a copy of Fleetwood Mac's Rumours safe and sound within your suburban American home. Then came the dark years, when you couldn't not find Rumours at a thrift store. But now it's a renaissance both personal and philosophical, with Christine McVie back and touring, Rumours a wall-of-honor album at the record store and Fleetwood Mac even promising new music. (Plus the “Stevie Nicks look” has come roaring back, too.) This On With The Show tour hits a bunch of the high points from Fleetwood Mac's most famous years, including this writer's favorite Tusk track–which of course is “I Know I'm Not Wrong”–and probably every hit you ever sang into a hairbrush. Recommended for heavy family bonding experiences. (Chris Ziegler)
