A mere five-minute drive from the beloved Wheel of Life, Greens Cafe offers an eclectic medley of vegan entrees that reach beyond the realm of Asian cuisine. It's the type of place where you can sit down and order a side of fried rice to go along with your pizza.

The restaurant is a family-owned with a curious ambiance that hovers between tacky and endearing. Although the quarters are a bit cramped, wide mirrors and tall windows make give the cafe a more open feel.

Like many vegan establishments, the prices are moderate and the food is fresh, but what sets Greens Cafe apart from other eateries such as Native Foods and the Veggie Grill is their Sunday all-you-can-eat brunch buffet (which we'll cover later) and selection of kid-friendly meals.

The kids menu makes an active attempt to encourage kids to consume more green in forms other than jelly beans and sour belts. The portions and prices are petite and the presentation just too cute.

Above, the happy face spaghetti tastes as good as it makes you feel. For $5.45, you get an all-organic plate of pasta topped with tofu marinara sauce, green beans and broccoli. The flavor strikes a savory harmony without being too sweet or tart and looks absolutely adorable.

The golden nuggets put McDonald's six-piece Chicken McNuggets to shame. These battered balls of soy protein are light and crisp with a delicious seasoning that makes them enjoyable even without the sauce. The sweet-and-sour sauce hits you just right with a combination of delicate sweetness and a mild tang. It also goes great with the fresh carrot sticks that come with the dish! At $4.25, the golden nuggets work as a great entree for your toddler or light appetizer to your meal.

With options such as these, you don't have to worry about bringing your little ones to a health-oriented restaurant. The kids menu at Greens Cafe offers food that is nutritious, affordable and fun. And if all else fails, at least you've got a great selection of vegan desserts from which to choose your consolation prize.
