Sweets News: Confetti Italian Ice, Creamistry And Afters Building Next OC Locations

If you thought speedy pizza was uber popular, you haven't been paying close enough attention to desserts. The cool stuff is marking its territory– one brand at a time. Three Orange County originals are branching out a little further on home turf, and we're loving them all.

First up, the Costa Mesa treat that knows how to pair soft serve custards with Italian ice hits the Balboa Fun Zone this weekend. Confetti wants you to visit their sophomore spot over in Newport this Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Save us some cookie butter!

Those crazy kids at Creamistry have multiplied since they first launched in Irvine less than two years ago. Double dipping in Costa Mesa, the liquid nitrogen spot is slated to open at both The Triangle and the plaza that is also building us The Halal Guys and a second Capital Noodle Bar. Any bets on which location will have worse parking?

And finally, hot on the heels of their Tustin opening , your preferred ice-cream-stuffed-doughnut chain is opening location number four this month. As Charles previously reported, it'll be by Cal State Long Beach. Afters Ice Cream can be found at 5708 East 7th Street, Suite B-1, sharing a plaza with L&L Hawaiian and Cha for Tea.

Oh, and that next, next Afters locale? We promised not to completely spill the beans (since there's still a lotta build out to get done), but let's just say Irvine Company is likely ticked they didn't score them in one of their plazas. Thanks for the Orange County love, guys!
