It's been over two and-a-half years since Daniel Woo and Greg Ong opened their revolving sushi joint in Gen Kai's old spot off Irvine Center Drive and Jeffrey. Sadly, Sushililcious bid their loyal followers farewell yesterday with the following tweet:

Their Candyland-hued, Ikea-designed dining space where servers uploaded beverage and side orders via their iPod Touch made for a user-friendly, Sushi 101 class. We not only enjoyed giggling at the Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious as it whizzed by, but were pleasantly surprised at how accommodating the chefs were at taking requests. When we called, they had just seated their final customers. The kind voice at the other end stated that the owner was closing due to personal reasons. Supposedly, Woo had been trying to sell with no luck.
While the city has no shortage of Asian establishments, it's only a matter of time before another concept stakes its claim over this storefront.
