Stringin' Along

When bluesy six-stringer Jonny Lang released his first album in 1995, guitar legend B.B. King was nearly five times his senior. At an age when most kids were wasting valuable mental space on geometry and daydreams of driving permits, Lang was opening for the Rolling Stones. Now, twenty-seven years old, Lang's preternatural abilities is no longer the focus of his charm. After being sidelined by substance abuse, Lang has reemerged clean and sober with an immense appreciation for the man upstairs. But to put it in industry terms: he's gone gospel. It must be tough to hit rock bottom and bounce back, all before being eligible to rent a car. But he's still standing. See for yourself.
