Speakeasy Ragtime Show

In 2011, pretty much nothing is off-limits: stoners and prostitutes fight for their rights (and get sympathetic ears), and binge drinking isn’t just for college kids anymore (hang with some out-of-work middle-agers sometime). So, it’s easy to forget that alcohol was illegal in the 1920s, and since no one wanted to toast a glass of mouthwash, secret bars popped up all over town. (When the cops were patrolling outside, the head waiter told all patrons to “speak easy” to avoid a raid.) Bringing those simpler, sexier days back in style, the Muck presents an evening of ragtime music, beer and wine—none of which was made in a dirty bathtub! The password to enter is “orange juice”—which you should immediately load up with vodka before the flatfoots barge in.
