Something was Wrong in Orange County…

It’s usually only in our nightmares (or perhaps, dreams?) that we imagine Orange County being overrun by vampires, werewolves, zombies, and the rest of the creatures of the night, but what if these monsters were actually brought to life—and they weren’t what passes for a meeting of the local Republican Party? That’s just what a group of locals artists was doing—luckily just on canvas—for the “Something Was Wrong In Orange County . . .” exhibition at Catalyst, a workspace and gallery extension of Art Supply Warehouse. In this show, participating artists (including the Weekly’s production manager, Steve Cox, and senior graphic designer, Jay Brockman) create pieces inspired by the culture and landmarks of the county with a horror twist. Also scheduled are acoustic performances by Moonshine and the Drugs, Franki Doll and the Broken Toys, and Drums and Color, plus a sampling of treats from Blackmarket Bakery.
