After being thoroughly impressed by the 2010 OC Music Awards Showcases debut, I'm stoked for tonight's date at the District at Tustin Legacy, which is the second event of the locals-only series and the debut of the Best Live Acoustic category.
The evening is scheduled to kick off at 7:30 p.m. with KUCI's* DJ Oldboy. Matt Kollar and the Angry Mob (Huntington Beach) open the show at 8 p.m. followed by acoustic performances by Barrett Johnson (Santa Ana), Billy Kernkamp (Costa Mesa), Stacy Clark (Costa Mesa; featured in clip below) and Canvas (Santa Ana). Where that jacket you've been dying to show off.Tonight's performances are under the stars on the District Stage near Borders and Pete's Coffee. All Showcases are free!
The Showcase Series continues weekly through February 26 at Yost Theater in Santa Ana and the Best Live Band Finals at Samueli Theater at the Orange County Performance Arts Center February 27, where the finalists from both categories perform and the winners are announced on stage at the end of each night.
