Sea Legs

YACHT's Jona Bechtolt has been creating art since he was a teen, collaborating with a veritable who's-who of Pacific Northwest musicians as his own solo star steadily rose. His collaboration with the Blow's Khaela Maricich resulted in Paper Television , which combined Bechtolt's electronic sensibilities with Maricich's avant-folk leanings and resulted in the strongest album of her career. His solo material as YACHT more fully embraces the possibilities of digital noise-making and his pleasant, cheery indie dance-pop remains far smarter than the genre demands. He appears this week with LA local favorites Mika Miko, whose energetic performance should warm the crowd up nicely.
