Cinco de Mayo celebrations are coming early this year and what better way to commemorate Mexico's victory over France than with the Sabroso Craft Beer and Taco Festval this weekend. Some of Orange County's favorite craft breweries and chefs will be there slinging beers and serving $3 tacos from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. this Saturday, May 2 at Oak Canyon Park in Silverado. Oh, and did I mention there will be lucha libre? Hold on to your butts.
Hosted by the OC Brew Ha Ha crew, the festival boasts over 80 unlimited craft beer tastings available for your drinking pleasure from OC breweries like Bootlegger's Brewery, Noble Ale Works, Bottle Logic Brewing, Barley Forge Brewing Co. and many more from around the country. Try some craft staples or be there to experience special tastings like Bottle Logic's sneak peak release of their new tequila barrel-aged spiced stout, Leche Boracco.
Now let's talk tacos. Chefs from all over the county will be bringing their A-game to provide the festival with amazing tacos from classic handfuls of deliciousness to fusion and beyond. Chef Cody Storts of GRITS in Fullerton, Chef Hop Phan of Dos Chinos, Chef Greg Daniels of Haven Gastro Pub, the award winning culinary team from Taps Fish House, and others will be slinging as many tacos as you can handle. All tacos are $3 a pop, so plan accordingly and don't forget your stretch pants.
If the tacos and beer weren't enough to celebrate the holiday and the weather, Sabroso will also provide live lucha libre to watch while you sip, chug, munch and burp your way through the day.
Festival tickets are available online now for $55. If the event does not sell out online, tickets will be available at the door for $65. And because the hosts want you make it back home in one piece, designated driver tickets are available for $20 at the door all DDs most be accompanied by regular ticket holders.
