Best known for their breakfast burritos, at least according to El Jefe, Rooster Cafe has been there, done that. Previously housing a hidden kitchen, tapas bar, and late night grub, they are now flying the coop to become a surf shack.
The Hen House is their little sister in the works. She will serve the entire Rooster menu (breakfast and lunch), plus beach-friendly grub like burgers, dogs and nachos. The original cafe will still be operational, but the newest addition is seasonal.

Open from Memorial Day thru Labor Day, Hen House will serve between 7 a.m. and 8 p.m. Located on Big Corona beach, it'll be a welcome alternative to Ruby's Shake Shack. If you want table service, go to Beachcomber or Cougar Country Crystal Cove Promenade. This house will be too busy grinding out meals.
By the way, if you're looking for summer employment (Cal Poly Pomona Hospitality Management students, I'm talking to YOU!), they're hiring on Craigslist.
