Rocq Cafe Closes In Lake Forest :(

Apparently these things happen in threes. We started the week getting nostalgic over Steelhead's impending closure. Yesterday, Edwin received intel of Asia Noodle Cafe's indefinite end date (we still remember the Woodbridge location). We just received word of another local joint saying goodbye.

Announced on their Facebook page Thursday night, Rocq Cafe thanked their loyal clientele for 18 months of business. Best known for their macarons, the Lake Forest spot closed after lunch service yesterday without warning. We never even got a chance to interview them for On the Line. However, there is a silver lining. Just read their parting message to the very end to find out what that is.

Dear Rocq Cafe customers,

We inform you that as of 8/29/13, our restaurant will be closed at the Lake Forest location on Lambert St. It has been a pleasure serving you these past 18 months. You may still purchase our delicious French macarons, desserts and cakes at your local Whole Foods. Our wholesale business, as some of you may know, is taking off, and our Macarons are going national and are going to be sold all over the US.

For this same reason, we have to limit what we do and, unfortunately, the Cafe was one of them. We very much enjoyed serving you, and in the future, when we open another location, we will keep you posted. For future catering needs or large macaron orders, please give us a call (714) 488-6258.

Thank you very much for your business and support.

Sincerely,

Chef Eddy and Deborah Rocq
