Old Paint

Pageant of the Masters is a beloved Laguna tradition. This theatrical illusion—the artistry of “living pictures”—is a recreation of classical and contemporary paintings featuring real people posing to look exactly like their 2-D counterparts in the original pieces. Charmingly unsettling and always impressive, the ninety-minute production, which takes place in an outdoor amphitheatre, also includes a professional orchestra, original score, live narration and intricate sets. Celebrating its 75th anniversary with All The World’s a Stage, Pageant of the Masters continues to shine as the Festival of Arts most famous attraction.
