After next week, the two Fullerton officers charged in the Kelly Thomas beating death won't be getting paid.
Kevin Hamilton, Fullerton's acting police chief, announced today his intention to put Cpl. Jay Cicinelli and Officer Manuel Ramos on unpaid administrative leave on Oct. 8.
In a written statement, Hamilton said he decided the officers' pay should be stopped “after consulting with our City Attorneys regarding law that is relevant to this area.”

Hamilton said he couldn't release any other details, since it was a personnel matter, but added that Cicinelli and Ramos have until Oct. 7 to respond to the proposed decision.
The other four officers, who weren't charged by the DA, are still on paid leave, pending the FBI's civil rights investigation and Michael Genacco's internal investigation, Hamilton said.
