OC Weekly Takes Home a Maggie Award

Just goes to show you what hard work, dedication, talent, and a two-page spread of medical-marijuana ads every week can get you. At Friday's awards banquet for the Western Publishing Association's 2010 Maggie Awards for magazines west of the Mississippi, OC Weekly took first place in the Tabloids/Consumer category.

The four other finalists in that category were all our Village Voice Media sister papers: LA Weekly, SF Weekly, Westword in Denver and the Houston Press. VVM papers were finalists in several other categories; this very blog was a finalist in the Web or Digital Edition Magazine Blog/Trade & Consumer category. The Houston Press took first place in the Public Service Series or Article/Trade & Consumer category for their feature “A Quiet Hell.”
