PURPOSE:
This individual will primarily be responsible for proofreading all categories of advertising. Checking all ads for symmetry, balance, consistency, artwork proportions, identifying errors and corrections needed for accurate production. This individual must be able to processes corrections in an accurate and timely manner. This position requires your availability to be flexible 3 days per week between the hours of 11:00 pm to 7:30 am (graveyard shift).

RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Proofread all ads word for word.
* Verify ad symmetry, balance, consistency, spelling, abbreviations, and artwork proportions
* Make minor corrections to ads as needed
* Proofread ads to meet ad standards compliance
* Return ad to Ad Designer for major corrections
* Review corrections with Ad Designer as needed
* Verify that all changes and corrections on proofs are been made.
* On high volume night’s, proofreaders may be required to work less complex (small, minor) ads
* Email ads out to auto compliance firms, as required
* May be cross-trained to assist where needed

REQUIREMENTS:
* Computer literate on MAC computer
* Proficient in Adobe PhotoShop and Adobe Illustrator
* Knowledge of Multi-Ad Creator or QuarkXpress software, a plus
* Excellent organizational skills
* Excellent customer service skills
* Highly proficient verbal and written communication skills
* Must be willing to work during the graveyard shift
* Ability to meet required deadlines, a must

HOURS
11:00 pm – 7:30 am
3 days a week (flexibility required)

SUMMARY:

The primary responsibility for the Typist (part time) will be typing copy/text for various advertising category ads. The person will be working for Advertising Operations/ production dept in a deadline environment. They will ensure wording in all ads make sense, spelling is correct, abbreviations are accurate, and will also assist with minor ad building and revisions during downtime. This position requires a part-time work schedule of 25 to 30 hours per week from 7:00 pm to 1:00 am (days may vary, Graveyard shift).

RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Typing advertising copy/ text for all advertising categories
* Verify spelling and abbreviations are accurate
* Verify ad text meets customer’s intended requirements
* On high volume nights, Typists may be required to build less complex ads or make minor changes on reruns
* Proofread work and make appropriate corrections before submission
* May be cross trained to assist in other areas as needed.

REQUIREMENTS:

* Must be able to type a minimum of 70 wpm
* Good English communication and grammar skills (i.e., spelling, etc.)
* Knowledge of word processing software
* Knowledge of MAC Computer operation, a plus
* Familiarity with Multi-Ad Creator, helpful

HOURS:
25-30 hours per week
7:00 pm – 1:00 am
(Note: Days and hours may vary – May be required to stay until 3:00 am)
