Uriel Molina, a San Juan Capistrano resident who was included in the gang injunction served to alleged members of the Varrio Viejo gang in February of 2008. Molina, who disagreed with his inclusion in the lawsuit (read more about it here), entered into a one-year agreement with the DA's office, where he promised not to get caught breaking any of the injunction's rules.
This week Molina's year was up, and he was freed from the Scarlet Letter-like gang label that has infuriated dozens of residents in cities throughout the county who say they aren't affiliated with a gang or have only minor scratches on their records.
