How much available storefront does UCI have? Too much, since ANOTHER eatery is slated to open this weekend. Okay, it's technically a juicery, but we don't nitpick. . .much.
A liquid alternative for fighting off the Freshman 15, Nekter specializes in 100% all natural, raw, vegan juices and smoothies. Founded in 2010, their original storefront was in Costa Mesa. Three years later and double-digit locations strong, it was only a matter of time before they tapped the college market.

On September 6, Nekter Juice Bar's doors will open bright and early at 7 a.m. Specials include free 16-ounce juices and smoothies until 11 a.m., 1-day cleanses for $35 (while supplies last) and a $25 gift card to the first 50 customers. So if our frugal minds think this through, we can get there at the crack of dawn for free drinks and possibly a gift card that we can apply towards the advertised cleanse. As long as we don't poop rainbows and unicorns, we'll give it a go.
Nekter will open at 4237 Campus Dr, Suite B163, (949) 660-0071; www.nektarjuicebar.com.
