Writer and star of this one-man comedy show, Steve Solomon grew up in Brooklyn, with (yep, you guessed it) an Italian mother and Jewish father. That combination lead to a lifetime of crazy quotes, jokes and stories—and to an award-winning play that spawned four sequels. The stage is set like a living room, and Solomon is right at home as he regals audiences with tales of his family's inappropriate antics. Now playing at the Huntington Beach Library, My Mother's Italian, My Father's Jewish, and I'm in Therapy! promises constant (and slightly crass) hilarity—no matter your background, there are certain things we can all relate to. Crazy families, for instance. And an evening spent laughing? It's definitely therapeutic.
