Mark your calendars: After three years of hearing rumors of its existence, the Handmade Nation documentary is finally coming to Southern California!
After the jump, get all the juicy details on the Los Angeles premiere!
]
Handmade Nation is a documentary by first-time director Faythe Levine; it follows her travels as she visits 15 different cities and interviews a slew of crafty peoples from all over. If you're an indie crafter or are just interested in learning more about this world-wide creative movement, you have to make plans to go to the Southern California premiere.
The movie will be playing on August 15 and 16 at the Cinefamily (AKA Silent Movie) theater, in association with the faboo gals at Reform School and Home Ec. While screenings will be taking place all that weekend, the most exciting showtime of course will be the first one! For $25 admission, you'll not only be among the first folks in the area to check out the film, but you'll get a goodie bag of crafty fun to boot. Plus, it'll be so much fun to dress up red carpet style and sit down with a bunch of crafty friends (like my Long Beach Craft Mafia cohorts!) to watch a movie about people like us, that just can't stop making things.
