Dance Music Pick(s) of the Week: Jujubeats, Dr. Freecloud's Record Shoppe Party, More

It's a big weekend for electro-insomniacs in Orange County. First and foremost, the annual Jujubeats party doubles up with its sister event, How Sweet It Is, for an outdoor rave Saturday at Oak Canyon Ranch in Irvine.

The lineup comprises a West Coast dream team of technicians, including
DJ Dan, Donald Glaude and Charles Feelgood, whipping up their loopy
goodness on the same stage. If you get dizzy you can always dub it up
at a separate stage where Chicago's DJ Sneak (the true inspiration for
Daft Punk's sound) and Heather will share the same decks as California
heroes Mark Farina and Doc Martin. Farina is spinning a special,
three-and-a-half hour down-tempo set of his trademark Mushroom Jazz at
sunset, by the way. The event also has Z-Trip and the Glitch Mob. Wow.

Oak Canyon Ranch at Lake Irvine, 5305 Santiago Canyon Rd. Irvine. 18+.
Doors at 5 p.m. Friday through Sunday camping for ticket-holders
allowed. Saturday doors at 5 p.m. Tickets $49 in advance. Info: jujubeatsfestival.com.

If you're still up but tapped out Dr. Freecloud's Record Shoppe has a free party Sunday afternoon featuring Viktor Carillo, Eric Ryan and Rich AM.  Barbecue and refreshments will be served, and you can pick up $1 used vinyl to boot. 18960 Brookhurst St., Fountain Valley. All ages. Doors at noon. Info: drfreeclouds.com.

More, you say? If you've gotten this far, you mind as well take it all the way. The hyperkinetic sound of hip-hop on caffeine – a.k.a. drum 'n' bass – takes over Detroit Bar Sunday night with the Influx crew's lineup of spinners. We've never heard of them. And we're sure they'll be wearing hoodies (in mid-summer) and scowls. But it's free! Avalon Bar, 820 W. 19th St., Costa Mesa. 21+. Doors at 8:30. Info: influxdnb.com.
