Metamorphosis

It’s always a boon to any curator when a fresh, new talent is unearthed, and rather exciting to both nurture that young artist and present him or her to the public for the first time. Such is the case for OMC Gallery for Contemporary Art owner Rolf Goellnitz who plucked Scott Valenzuela out of a coffeehouse and presented his first solo exhibition back in April—which the Weekly favorably reviewed. Now, Valenzuela is back with a new show, “Metamorphosis,” and host of sublime, surreal, cubist-leaning pastels that he calls his “visual novel,” and that you will call exceptional.
