Anaheim will become a much darker place on Tuesday as the wan, wiry British rock veteran prowls the boards, his distinctive baritone and sweeping stagecraft casting their spooky spell over his fans. For the past few years, he's been immersed in the rapturously received Bauhaus reunion tour (Coachella and Grove of Anaheim appearances were stunning) and a solid studio album (Go Away White). Murphy is working on new solo material said to have a more melodic quality and analog electronic elements. Whether or not a taste of the new stuff is forthcoming, the faithful can surely look forward to hearing hits such as “Cuts You Up,” “The Sweetest Drop” and “You're So Close” on this retrospective tour.
