>Rebecca St. James, God. She says it all without compromise. She's a great vocalist and really rocks on the title track. Also cool: the Newsboys, Jars of Clay, Audio Adrenaline, the Choir, Cademan's Call and Jennifer Knapp.
>David Gilmour. The solos by this Pink Floyd guitarist just melt me. He's phenomenal in the way he can voice his feelings and mood with his playing—a master of self-expression. My favorite solo of his is on “Comfortably Numb” from The Wall. He's a master of tone who'll go to great lengths to get just the right sound.
>The Gibson Les Paul Custom. I've always loved these guitars and their rich, warm, round sound. But they're heavy!
>Karen Briggs at the Universal Amphitheater. She's a violinist who plays with Yanni, and she brought me to tears with the most commanding and rocking solo I've ever heard played on any instrument. I was blown away as I sat frozen, watching and listening to her.
>Roger Daltrey of the Who. My favorite rock vocalist. I love that guy's voice; it has a great texture. You probably know his scream in “Won't Get Fooled Again.” A scream just couldn't sound any better.
>Women and rock. I'm really not certain why there aren't more women out there playing in bands. It's one of the most enjoyable things I've ever done. If you're female and have ever thought about it, stop thinking—get yourself an instrument and start playing. There's no reason why you can't.
