Hollywood renaissance man James Franco has done pretty much everything except release his own record; today, we learned that a dance EP is next on his list. The project is called Franco and Kalup, and it's a collaboration between Franco and drag video/performance artist Kalup Linzy. Franco, apparently a fan of Kalup's soap opera-inspired Conversations Wit de Churen video series, invited him to appear on General Hospital during his stint on the show (Franco played an artist named Franco, in case you missed out).

On July 12, they'll release their debut EP, Turn It Up,
on DJ/rupture's Brooklyn-based label Dutty Artz as a digital download
and a limited-edition 7-inch. It'll feature both Franco and Kalup's vocals, as well as two songs produced by DJ/rupture.
Sounds a little scary, and yes, it is real. See below for a live video of Kalup and Franco performing the single “Proud Mary.”
