After a much-ballyhooed Dinosaur Jr. comeback in the late 2000s, J Mascis has returned to solo recording. He will release a new acoustic album titled Several Reasons of Why on March 15. In support, Mascis will be performing 22 dates across North America. Fortunately for OC/LBC indie fans, he'll stop at Alex's Bar in Long Beach on May 5 (Cinco de Mayo!).

Mascis' catalog ranges from brutally distorted squalls to gentle, folky tunes to near-psychedelic guitar jams, so a record emphasizing his acoustic side should prove interesting after the return of the full-throttle Dinosaur Jr. Black Heart Procession will also appear on the bill, making for a powerhouse lineup that should not be missed.
