It's Beginning to Look a lot Like You-Know- What Already at South Coast Plaza

From Mt. Shasta to the OC, a Christmas tree arrived at South Coast Plaza faster than you can say “Trick-or-treat!”

Many gathered with seasonal lattes in hand to
watch the 96-foot fir end its two-day, 650-mile journey around 5 a.m. Monday.

The tree was hoisted into place
as part of a 29-year tradition at the Costa Mesa “shopping experience,” which for the second straight year encouraged people to follow the tree's journey with the tweeting truck driver responsible for delivering the massive beauty. (Check twitter.com/scpholiday next year.)

The tree had to be transported on the largest allowable-sized trailer for the highway.

Over the next three weeks, Costa Mesa's elves will decorate the tree in 15,000 colored lights in preparation for a tree-lighting ceremony scheduled for 6 p.m. Nov. 18.
