Irish Chamber Orchestra

West gnocchi potatoes meet East boiled potatoes when Brooklyn-born Italian lady maestro JoAnn Falletta and the Irish Chamber Orchestra welcome world-renowned Northern Ireland flutiest Sir James Galway. Falletta, whom the New York Times calls “one of the finest conductors of her generation,” and Galway, who, as one of the first flute players to establish an international soloist career has been dubbed “The Man with the Golden Flute,” will navigate via Limerick’s Chamber orchestra the waters of Harty’s “Ireland,” Mozart’s “Flute Concerto in D major K.314” and “Symphony No. 41 in C major ‘Jupiter,’” plus Hammond’s “Carolan Variations.” It’s a sophisticated, cross-cultural evening to be sure, so get your immigrant pride on and join them.
