Huntington Beach's Own Hellogoodbye Signs To Old Friends Records

Old Friends Records announced the first signing to their alternative/indie rock label — Huntington Beach's own, Hellogoodbye.  And while the news of the signing tunnels its way through various blogs and music sites, Hellogoobye's new album is currently being produced by multi-Grammy Award winning Joe Chiccarelli; the producer behind Young the Giant, The Shins, The White Stripes, My Morning Jacket, and Jason Mraz.  Hellogoodbye's new album hopes to launch the Surf City band into the same stratosphere as Chiccarelli's pervious projects.

And to sweeten the deal, Hellogoobye's second full-length album, Would It Kill you?, will be re-issued as a digital deluxe edition by Old Friends Records on Dec. 18, and a vinyl re-issue, featuring a live acoustic party set bundle, is planned for the beginning of 2013.

And for Forrest Kline, lead singer and guitarist for Hellogoodbye, signing to Old Friend Records is a bit of a homecoming.  “Back when I was an awkward teen singing about Dawson's Creek, I worked at the offices with the folks at Old Friends,” Kline said on the Old Friend Record's website.  “It rules to be circling back around with good people, and we've got a bunch of great stuff on the horizon…”
Hellogoodbye formed in 2001, and their Ep in 2004 eventually brought the attention of Drive-Thru Records, where they released their first full-length album, Zombies! Aliens! Vampires! Dinosaurs!  And while the anticipation builds over Hellogoodye's new record and their blossoming career, Old Friends Records has released a video.  Check it out below.
