Hanson to Launch 'Mmbop' Beer

Though best known for snagging millions of teenage girls' hearts, the Hanson boys may be about to have a similar effect on middle-aged men worldwide after announcing plans to launch their own brand of ale called “Mmbop.”

The beverage – which is obviously named after their 1997 hit single 'Mmmbop' – will be an Indian pale ale that will be available early next year.

Drummer Zac Hanson addressed a bewildered crowd at the Oxford Union earlier this week: “It's vital our fans trust in everything Hanson do. We are soon going to be selling our own beer. I'm not joking – Mmmhop IPA anyone?”

Hanson isn't the only band to try to break into the alcoholic beverage industry this year. Elbow launched their own charity beer named after their Build A Rocket Boys! album and donated the proceeds from its sales to Oxfam. The Rifles and Kiss have also introduced their own brands of ale.
