The greatest blues guitar player you've probably never heard of, Guitar Shorty could match chords with the greats like BB King and Buddy Guy. At the age of 16, he played with Ray Charles, and while still a teenager, he fronted his own band at the famous New Orleans venue Dew Drop Inn. Music runs through his soul—and apparently his heart as well because in 1961, he married his wife Marcia, Jimi Hendrix's sister. To watch Guitar Shorty play is like watching a master chef in the kitchen or a prima ballerina dance across the stage—he executes his craft with such grace and ease, it appears as natural to him as breathing. And then there's the YouTube clip where he plays his guitar with his face.
