Groundhog Day

While belching and barfing flicks may be the current joie de vivre of the Honey Boo Boo masses, during the last great era of moviemaking (that would be the early 1990s), comedies with both brains and benevolence were still coming off the production line. Enter Bill Murray and frequent collaborator, director Harold Ramis (Caddyshack, Stripes, Ghostbusters) and a film that can pretty much be called a perfect comedy. It’s also Murray’s last great work (Lost in Translation, excepted) and his snarky-sardonic sourpuss who can’t figure out why he’s stuck in an endless loop of shitty days in a Podunk town has never been sexier. Just remember: Don’t drive angry.
