Green Day to Play Irvine; Ready for Broadway

Those East-Bay-punks-turned-arena-rockers Green Day will visit the Verizon Wireless Amphitheater on Aug. 31 as part of their North American tour. Bamboozle co-headliner AFI has been named the opener. In related news, the Broadway premiere of American Idiot–the stage version of Green Day's powerfully political 2004 album–opens at the St. James Theatre on April 20, y'know, just in case you have an upcoming trip planned to NYC and are into seeing rock albums being transformed into bloated musicals.

In keeping with Green Day's trailblazing and innovative mind-set, the band will feature all-inclusive ticket pricing for all tickets throughout their entire tour with no additional fees of any kind. A limited number of lawn seats will be offered for $20 when tickets go on sale to the general public. Tickets go on sale in select markets beginning March 26th at LiveNation.com.
