Gettin' Made: Barbeque for Your Country!

Happy Fourth of July weekend, folks! I hope you all have great plans for parties with friends and family, and those parties best include some bar-be-queing. It's not too late to check out these patriotic-themed outdoor party items from a variety of Etsy crafters. They're red, white and blue to be sure, but aren't so over the top that they can't be used repeatedly over the course of your summer party schedule!

After the jump, more patriotic handmade goodies to give a handmade kick in the pants to your next outdoor soiree.

This is such a unique take on the apron trend. I've never seen a skirt re-invented as an apron before – it's just so darn cute!

Purpose Designs offers these really cool spice kits to add a little flavor to your 4th of July bar-be-que. They have 16 different spice mixes, and you can choose 8 from varieties like the Cajun Spice Rub, Mexican Spice Rub, Java Love Rub and more. (Beware the Jamaican Jerk rub, I hear it's less than friendly – zing!)

Paper garlands are a quick easy way to decorate your indoors or outdoors for a shin-dig. This one is made from recycled magazine pages, so you're helping the environment as you party!

Maybe you're not hosting your own bar-be-que, but you're attending someone else's. Think about the jaw-dropping jealousy you'll stir up in your fellow party-goers when you whip this baby out. While everyone else is using flimsy plastic forks and knives to dig in, you'll be rocking this handmade set of wooden utensils that's not only cool as hell, but reuseable.

Here's hoping you have a great time this weekend – no fun plans? Better make some fast. I'll be sending Uncle Don Gato to check up on you.
