Few bandmate-best friend duos intrigue us more than Red Hot Chili Peppers’ Anthony Kiedis and Flea. And because Kiedis and Flea met when they were 15-years-old, they are often asked about their long-lasting friendship.
In an interview with Rolling Stone, Flea likened his relationship with Kiedis to a north and south magnet. “They kind of repel each other,” he said. “But they have to be together for the earth to live.”
The bond between the two larger-than-life musicians has always been a dynamic part of the band’s fun-loving persona.
“I think what [Anthony and I] have is actually more like a brotherly relationship,” Flea told Interview Magazine. “But we’re definitely best friends and love each other very much.”
The Red Hot Chili Peppers are currently on a world tour to promote their 11th studio album, The Getaway, which has topped charts around the world and reached No. 2 on The Billboard Top 200.
