Five Hip-Hop Artists Who Actually Became Adult Film Stars

Yesterday, we at the Weekly highlighted which hip-hop artists we thought would make for the most absurd adult film stars. But in an example of real life being much, much stranger than fiction, the list of rap artists who've actually tried their hand at pornography is even more startling. While many consider Snoop Dogg's 2001 adult film Doggystyle as the launching point of the rap-porn connection, the Doggfather himself doesn't get nearly as down and dirty onscreen as some of his contemporaries. Hide the impressionable eyes from this one, here's five hip-hop artists who actually became adult film stars!

Son Doobie 1997

With songs like “XXX Funk,” Los Angeles rap trio Funkdoobiest weren't exactly strangers to the most vulgar arts. Still, even with their own X-Rated club and penchant for penning songs about sex, the leap into sex on camera is a pretty big jump. In 1997, member Son Doobie starred in Vivid Entertainment's Vivid Raw 6: Son Doobie, Porn King, and made a tape so memorable it wound up being shouted-out in Eminem's hit single “Guilty Conscience.”

Treach of Naughty by Nature
2002

You down with O.P.P.? Yeah, you know Treach is, thanks to his starring role in 2002's Treach's Naturally Naughty Porno Movie. There was a time in the late 90s when every Hollywood or basic cable film was required to have a Treach cameo, so it's unlikely he did this one to pad his IMDb credits. Probably the most unsettling thing about this release is how we can't decide if the title is clever or not.

Necro 2003

Underground rap cult hero Necro has always marched to the beat of his own drummer, so given his passion for crude humor and film-making, it's no surprise he's distributed his own adult films as well. In 2003 he self-released (on his own Sexpert Video imprint) Sexy Sluts: Been There, Done That, a pornographic film which he also directed. A few years later, he re-released his The Sexorcist album with a special edition bonus DVD featuring nudity and sexual acts so extreme, his label Koch refused to distribute it.

Coolio 2007

Awwwww, here it goes! Coolio's been everywhere from Nickelodeon to “The Nanny” to the Gathering of the Juggalos, so the only thing really surprising about his participation in an adult title is that we didn't hear more about it. 2007's Coolio and the Gang-Bang features the rap star rocking his hits while being surrounded by sex acts. “Slide, slide, slippity slide!”

Luther Campbell 2007

A hero in the music industry for setting the standard of independent distribution and sticking up for first amendment rights, 2 Live Crew's Luther Campbell has always been outspoken and unfiltered. With almost two decades of watchdog groups attempting to get just his music off the shelves, it was almost expected that Uncle Luke venture into adult film territory. He released Luke's Bachelor Party in 2007, and given how out-of-control his documented sexual escapades have been, one could imagine some video stores stocking this title in the Docu-Drama section.
